Keep Your Bike Running Smoothly with Otter Cycles

Foundation Service £45.00*
An affordable safety check and tune up – Ideal for commuters. Recommended every 6 months.
This service gives your bike the care it needs to stay safe, smooth and reliable. We start with a full safety check of the frame, fork and all key components, making sure every bolt is tightened to the correct torque. We then fine‑tune your gears and brakes for crisp shifting and confident stopping, and give the chain a proper clean and lubrication to keep it running efficiently for longer.
Tyre pressures are checked, the bike gets a light wipe‑down, and we finish with a test ride to make sure everything feels exactly as it should — ready for your next ride.
Standard Service £90.00*
A full service of all components – Ideal to bring any bike back to life. Recommended annually.
This service gives your bike a deep, all‑round tune‑up so it rides smoothly, safely and reliably. We start with a full safety check of the frame, fork and every key component, making sure all bolts are tightened to the correct torque. We then precisely adjust your gears and brakes for crisp shifting and confident stopping, replacing brake pads if needed, and give the chain a proper clean and lubrication for efficient running.
Your drivetrain is fully degreased, cleaned and re‑lubed — or replaced where necessary — and we true and tension the wheels to keep your ride stable and predictable. We also check and adjust the bottom bracket, hub bearings and headset, apply any required software updates, and finish with a complete clean, re‑lube and a test ride to make sure everything feels spot‑on and ready for the road.
Premium Service £120*
For those that want the best for their bike and to return it to that “as new” feel.
This is our most comprehensive service — a complete strip‑down and rebuild designed to bring your bike back to peak performance, reliability and longevity. It includes everything from our Standard Service, then goes much deeper.
We take the entire bike apart, clean and inspect every component, and replace bearings, drivetrain parts, cables, outers and brake pads wherever needed. Your brakes receive a full bleed with fresh fluid as standard, ensuring powerful, consistent stopping. Every part is cleaned, degreased and lubricated in detail before being reassembled, leaving your bike running as close to ‘factory‑fresh’ as possible.
*Internally routed bicycles may incur higher labour charges. All prices are exclusive of VAT and do not include the cost of any parts required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Collection & Delivery
Is your collect‑and‑return service free?
Yes — collection and return are free within the listed postcode areas when your labour charge is £60 or above. For smaller jobs, we can still collect and return your bike, with a £35 collection fee.
Postcodes covered. EX1 – Central & East Exeter; EX2 – South Exeter & Riverside; EX3 – Topsham & Estuary Villages; EX5 – Broadclyst & Rural East Devon; EX8 – Exmouth & Lympstone; EX10 – Sidmouth & Sid Valley; EX11 – Ottery St Mary & West Hill; EX14 – Honiton & Blackdown Hills Edge.
Can you collect my bike from my workplace?
Absolutely. We’re happy to collect your bike from your home, workplace or any agreed location. We do prefer to return bikes in person so we can walk you through the work carried out and make sure everything is set up exactly as you expect.
When do you collect and return?
We aim to work around whatever time suits you best. Typically, we collect weekday mornings, which gives us the full day to complete your service and order any parts required. Repairs are usually returned in the afternoon or early evening, but we’re very flexible and often collect or deliver outside these times when needed.
Will you travel further afield?
Yes — we regularly travel outside our free collection area. A mileage charge of 55p per mile applies to cover fuel and transport costs.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
If you’re a new customer or outside the free collection area, we may ask for a £15 deposit. This simply ensures the bike is available at the agreed time so that work for other customers isn’t delayed. The deposit is fully deducted from your final service bill.
Repairs
How long will my repair take?
We aim to return your bike as quickly as possible while maintaining the high standards we’re known for. Many repairs can be completed same day, as we keep a wide range of fast‑moving spares in stock. If your bike needs parts we don’t hold, most arrive next day, though specialist components may take longer. As cyclists ourselves, we understand how important your bike is — we always work to get it back to you promptly.
Do you handle warranty issues?
If you believe your bike has a warranty issue, please give us. In some cases, the shop you originally purchased the bike from may be the most appropriate service partner.
Do you repair e‑bikes?
Yes — we service and repair all types of e‑bikes and are Bosch and Shimano specialists. Some parts for older or unbranded e‑bikes can be difficult to source, so we may not be able to accommodate every make or model. We do not work on illegal e‑bikes; any deposit paid will be retained to cover travel costs.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfer or cash, and these are our preferred payment methods as they avoid transaction charges and help us maintain more competitive pricing. Card payments and secure online payment links are also available if you prefer.
